T20I format is the toughest form of cricket for the bowlers. Unlike Test cricket, they not have permission to bowl unlimited overs. They can only bowl a maximum of four overs, meaning they do not have enough time to get their line and length right. Also, the batters look to attack the bowlers right from ball number one in T20I cricket, making it even tougher for them.
Over the years, some of the greatest names in cricket history have failed to make an impact while bowling in T20I matches. Some of them were even taken to the cleaners regularly by the batters. Conceding 30 sixes in 1 year is a dubious record that no bowler wants to own, but here are the two bowlers who have got hit for more than 30 maximums in T20is of the same calendar year.
1. One of the current Indian bowlers – Harshal Patel
Current Indian fast bowler Harshal Patel made a name for himself with his death bowling for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022. While Patel proved to be economical as well as a wicket-taking option in IPL 2022, he has not been able to make the same impact in T20I matches.
Patel made his debut after the ICC T20 World Cup last year. In 2022, he has been a regular member of the Indian squad, but the batters have destroyed him on a majority of the occasions. Three months are still remaining in 2022, and Patel has broken the all-time record of conceding the most sixes in a year, having conceded 33 sixes.
