In the IPL, we come across many cricketers who take part in the domestic event and also play against India. A few players get confidence playing on Indian pitches and have used this against India, as well. However, that is not so common in the red-ball format. While County Cricket allows foreigners, it would be interesting even if Ranji Trophy allows that. In fact, in the past, there was already a system in place for the same. Hence, a few players who played against India also operated in this tournament. On that note, here, we take a look at two players in recent times who played against India and also played in Ranji Trophy.

    1) Vikram Solanki

A few years ago, BCCI allowed Ranji Trophy teams to pick foreign cricketers. Hence, during the 2006-07 season, Vikram Solanki, who was actually born in India, played in the tournament. Surprisingly, he has also been a part of many games for England against Team India. Currently, Vikram is serving as the Director at Gujarat Titans. It was a great debut for him at the franchise as they won the season in IPL 2022. The former English cricketer had a key role to play in this success. Even currently, the team is in great form and is in line for a spot in the playoffs. He had previously worked with RCB, too.

    2) Kabir Ali

Kabir Ali is one of the players in recent times who played against India and also played in Ranji Trophy. The former English bowler, along with Vikram, was part of the Rajasthan set-up during that season. Having played against India, it was a good experience for him. Incidentally, not many know that Moeen Ali happens to be the cousin of Kabir. After retirement, Kabir is involved as a bowling coach for teams in the County Championship.
