Taking a 4-wicket haul in cricket is not everyone’s cup of tea. In formats like T10 or T20, a bowler might be able to take four wickets if he bowls a majority of his deliveries in the slog overs, but in Test cricket and ODIs, the bowler needs to work hard for his wicket almost every time.

It is the dream of every bowler to take a 4-wicket haul for their team, and for many, it is one of their targets to accomplish the feat while they are on an overseas tour. Some bowlers have been incredibly successful and have managed to take a 4-wicket haul across Tests, T20Is and ODIs against the same opponent while playing away from home.

In this listicle today, we will look back at those instances and list down the only two players to have achieved this unique feat. Interestingly, both of them are all-rounders.

1. Hardik Pandya – 4-wicket haul vs. England in England

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya became the second player to achieve this record when he took four wickets each in the first T20I against the England cricket team and in the third ODI against the same opponent in the recently-concluded series.

Pandya’s phenomenal bowling performances helped the Men in Blue win both the matches. In 2018, he took five wickets while conceding just 28 runs to help India win a Test on English soil.

2. Shakib Al Hasan

While Pandya has accomplished the feat against England, Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan destroyed Zimbabwe in all three formats on their home soil. In July 2021, he returned with figures of 4/82 in the first innings of the Test at Harare Sports Club.

During the same tour, he scalped a five-wicket haul in an ODI against Zimbabwe, whereas in T20Is, he took four wickets in a match at the Queens Sports Club in 2013.
