10 years later, none of the aforementioned names are a part of the Indian cricket team now. However, here’s a list of three such players who played in the 2014 T20 World Cup Final and will likely play in the 2024 T20 WC Final.
1. Virat Kohli will play his 2nd T20 World Cup Final
Virat Kohli was the top-scorer for India in the 2014 T20 WC Final against Sri Lanka. The right-handed batter scored 77 runs off 58 deliveries in the match against Sri Lanka, where he smashed five fours and four sixes. Despite the half-century from Virat, India managed only 130/4 in 20 overs.
Kohli is yet to score a half-century in the ongoing T20 World Cup. Fans will hope that Kohli plays a big knock, and it ends in a winning cause.
2. Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma opened the batting for India in that big game against Sri Lanka. The Hitman is known for his aggressive batting, but he scored 29 off 26 in that match. Now, Sharma is the captain of Team India, and he will captain the Men in Blue in the final against South Africa.
3. Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja has been India’s main all-rounder across all formats. His batting, left-arm spin and acrobatic fielding have helped India succeed in many matches. Jadeja did not get to bat in the 2014 T20 WC final. He bowled just one over, where he gave away 11 runs without taking any wickets.
