Emerging Player of the Season Award is usually given to rising youngsters. However, here, we take a look at the list of three players who made their India debut but could still win the Emerging Player Award in IPL 2024.
These days, India debuts happen a lot based on talent. Even if a player has not played a lot in the IPL, a cricketer could wear the India cap. Hence, some people still stand a chance to win this award in IPL 2024.
1) Dhruv Jurel
Usually, for the Emerging Player award criteria, a player should not have played more than 5 Tests. At the moment, Dhruv has 4 Tests to his name. The age and IPL appearances count also fit Jurel for this award. If he can do well as a finisher, there is a chance that he could win this award.
2) B Sai Sudharsan could win the Emerging Player Award in IPL 2024
Sai recently made his ODI debut for India. In IPL 2024, it might not be a surprise if he comes up the order to open the batting with Shubman Gill for Gujarat Titans. Even if that does not happen, at No.3, Sai has all the chances to make a mark. Hence, he is also on this list.
3) Chetan Sakariya
Chetan Sakariya is one of the players who made their India debut but could still win the Emerging Player Award in IPL 2024. It is interesting to note that Sakariya still has only 19 IPL appearances to his name. He made his India debut long ago, when the squad travelled to Sri Lanka under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan. Sakariya could open the bowling for KKR and hence, he has a chance to win this award.
