It is easy to go behind big names at the auction when things are happening fast. However, RCB has burnt their hands this way in the past. They should look to avoid this, especially considering the criticality of the squad improvement.

1) Rachin Ravindra

Almost everyone is expecting RCB to bid for Rachin Ravindra in IPL 2024 Auctions. Being a Bengaluru boy, RCB could even bid for the cricketer. However, Rachin has not proved himself in T20s so far and RCB does not have the correct slot for him in the playing XI. It would be a big decision if they do go for Rachin, especially with the team needing a frontline spinner and a couple of pacers.

2) Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins is one of the popular stars in IPL 2024 Auctions whom RCB should not target. While Pat Cummins is a quality cricketer, his bowling may not be of great use at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB might need a pacer with raw pace and someone who can hit the deck hard consistently. Cummins, in his previous IPL stints, has suffered with his economy. This is a big problem for any RCB pacer. Hence, the franchise should avoid him.

3) Mitchell Starc

Starc has only played for RCB before in IPL. Hence, many are expecting the franchise to go for him again. However, RCB already has Reece Topley in the team. Starc, in T20s, is doing well with the new ball. At the death and in the middle overs, his impact has not been that great. RCB cannot afford to have an overseas pacer with this attribute. Hence, they must not target Starc in IPL 2024 Auctions.
