IPL is the grandest T20 league on earth, and the next edition of the league will begin in the coming months. The tournament expanded to 10 teams earlier this year, with Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants joining Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, SunRisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.
Many fans have felt that the recent editions of the league have not been so exciting as the previous ones. In the past, the fans would watch the entire pre-show of the league, the entire match and also the post-match presentation ceremony from start to end.
The awards have changed in the league over the last few years because of the change in the sponsors. The old awards still have a special place in the hearts of the original IPL fans. Here’s a list of four discontinued awards that fans miss the most.
1. Star Plus Nayi Soch Award
Star Plus joined in as a sponsor for the Indian Premier League and introduced the Nayi Soch award. It was a prize that was given to a cricketer who displayed an innovative shot, tactic or bowling style, something that most fans would not have thought of. Nayi Soch award was one of the most creative things in the league.
2. DLF Super Sixes Challenge Award

In 2011 and 2012, DLF, the then title sponsor of the league, introduced a Super Sixes challenge for the players. They would face a ball from the bowling machine, and the player who hit the farthest six would win the prize. Albie Morkel’s 105 meters six from that challenge was an unforgettable one.
3. Karbon Kamaal Catch

Mobile phone company Karbon would award the player who took the best catch in the match with a Karbon Kamaal Catch award. There was also a season award for this prize.
4. Vitara Brezza Glam Shot

Vitara Brezza Glam Shot was given to the player who played the best shot of the match. It would spark a debate among fans as to who should win it.
