Viacom18 has acquired the rights to live stream all Indian Premier League matches in India from the 2023 season onwards. From next year onwards, the IPL matches will not be available on Disney+ Hotstar. Live telecast of IPL 2023 will be available on Star Sports network, but a new app will be launched by Viacom18 for the IPL 2023 live streaming.
There are some exciting features which will be added to the live streaming of the Indian Premier League from the 2023 season onwards. Here’s a list of four things that Viacom18 has released as the new features for the new season:
1. IPL 2023 will have multiple camera angles from the ground
Viacom18 has decided to redefine the user experience while watching the Indian Premier League matches. They will give the users multiple new camera angles to watch the matches.
2. Viewer himself can select which angle he wants to watch from
Disney+ Hotstar gave the same live stream for the matches which was available on TV, but Viacom18 has gone one step ahead and given the freedom to the users to decide how should they watch the matches. They can pick any angle, from the umpire’s view, the normal view, from behind the batter view or from the front end view to watch the games.
3. Watch Party in IPL 2023 available now
The Indian users can invite their friends to a watch party where they all can enjoy the matches together. This is a step which will help people living in different parts of the country watch the game together in a digital way.
4. 4K Ultra HD Live Streaming
720p and 1080p were the popular formats of watching the cricket matches online previously. However, Viacom18 has decided to give a whole new layer to the live streaming as they will also allow the users to watch the matches in 4K Ultra HD format.
