Team India will take on New Zealand in the final of the World Test Match on June 18th in Southampton, England. The last time India faced NZ in Tests, they were beaten easily. Hence, the men in blue will be wary of the Kiwis in the summit clash. The players in the NZ squad for the WTC final are also well prepared and look set for the clash.

However, there are a few players in the NZ squad for the WTC final whom Team India has not faced before. Since these players have also had a short career so far, sufficient video footage will also not be available for analysis. Hence, Virat Kohli and co. will have to be careful about these players if they make it to the playing XI on June 18th.

1. Devon Conway

It will be Devon Conway’s first outing in Test cricket in England. The player has been in terrific form in limited-overs cricket. In a short span, he has climbed up the charts in T20I cricket and is currently one of the best batsmen in the format. However, he has not played against India before. Hence, if at all he comes into the XI for the WTC final, India will have to make special plans to negate him. This could be a difficult task as none of the Indian bowlers has previously bowled against him.

2. Will Young

Will Young is also a newbie in the international fold. The top-order batsman has played in all three formats for New Zealand but has never come up against India. In the games that he has played for the Kiwis, Young is yet to make a solid impression. With a stacked top-order, he may not feature in the final of WTC. Yet, India will have to be prepared if there are any last-minute changes.

3. Rachin Ravindra – A Newbie In NZ Squad For WTC Final

Rachin Ravindra is the latest kid on the block in New Zealand cricket. He will yet again be one of the Indian-origin cricketers who will wear the Kiwi cap. A left-handed batsman, the youngster has scored 1470 runs in 26 FC games so far. He oozes promises and is set to have a bright future. Hence, to expose him to the highest level, NZ selected him in the squad for the WTC final. That said, it would be a major surprise if he plays in the final game.

4. Jacob Duffy – A Newbie In NZ Squad For WTC Final

Jacob Duffy is also a newbie in this squad. A right-arm pace bowler, he had a terrific T20I debut when he collected a four wicket-haul against Pakistan in December 2020. Like most of the other bowlers from his nation, Duffy is accurate and will be a serious threat. Nevertheless, with the likes of Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson in the squad as the right-arm pace options, Duffy might not play in the WTC final.
