The Royal Challengers Bangalore finished sixth in the IPL 2023 points table and narrowly missed out on an opportunity to compete in the playoffs of the tournament. RCB may want to make some big changes to their batting lineup in IPL 2024.

Across the entire IPL 2023 season, the RCB batting lineup was heavily reliant on the trio of Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli. If the trio did not fire, the Royal Challengers Bangalore would end up losing the game on a majority of the occasions.

Rajat Patidar may join the team in IPL 2024, but the following four players of the RCB franchise might be released soon:

    1. Dinesh Karthik may not play for RCB in IPL 2024

Dinesh Karthik was the top performer for Bangalore in IPL 2022, but his form declined a lot in 2023. In 13 matches, Karthik managed only 140 runs. He could not deliver the goods when the team needed him. Hence, RCB may release him.

    2. RCB may not retain Anuj Rawat for IPL 2024

Anuj Rawat has been with RCB for two seasons, and he has played only two impactful knocks for the franchise. Considering that the Bangalore-based franchise spent 3.4 crore to acquire his services, the team may think of releasing him and buying him back for a cheaper price.

    3. Mahipal Lomror

Another middle-order batter to feature on the list is Mahipal Lomror. He played 12 matches, aggregating 135 runs at an average of 16.88. 54 out of those 135 runs came in one game only. RCB may think twice before offering him another contract.

    4. Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel leaked too many runs this season and could not take that many wickets as well. He took 14 wickets at an economy rate of 9.65. Since his salary was 10.75 crore, RCB can consider releasing him and buying him for a lesser amount.
