When scoring a boundary was really swety work, things changed considerably thanks to the introduction of the T20 cricket, a format that focuses more on smashing big sixes rather than those singles, doubles or even boundaries, the heart and soul of the game.

Sediqullah Atal of Shaheen Hunters smashed 48 runs in a over of Abasin Defenders’ Amir Zazai’s over. The 21-years-old batter smashed a whopping 7 sixes in a row during the match 10 of the Kabul Premier League. In doing so, he also equalled Indian batter Ruturaj Gaikwad’s record as same when the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter scored 48 runs in a over of Shiva Singh while playing for Maharashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2022.

All of it happened on the 19th over of the Shaheens inning. Their captain Sediqullah Atal was facing off against a left-arm orthodox bowler of the opposition team. The carnage of the over started with a Six off a no ball on the first ball of the match. In the free hit ball, the bowler with all the pressure mounting in, bowled a wide for boundary.

But, it didn’t stop there, the first legal ball of the over was once again dispatched for a Six by Atal. This carnage continued for the remaining balls of the over and the pressure continue to take it on the bowler as the batter hit further 5 Sixes in the 5 balls to score 48 runs in that particular over, involving 7 Sixes coming off the bat of the batter and Shaheen Hunters’ captain Sediqullah Atal’s bat.

As Atal continue to send the ball out of the park, the commentators continue to hype it and there was an interesting amount of atmosphere on the ground. The blazing show from the Hunters captain lead his team to a big total of 213 runs that involved captain Sediqullah Atal scoring a brilliant century, 118 runs in just 56 balls that included only seven fours and a mammoth 10 Sixes.

Chasing the target, Abasin Defenders had absolutely no answers to Hunters’ performance with the bat and the ball as they were all out for 121 runs in 19 overs and Shaheen Hunters won the match by 92 runs.

The video of the following moment was shared by a Twitter account calling themselves Cricket Afghanistan. The Twitter account further elaborated that this performance from the 21-years-old batter could pave way for his entry into the Afghanistan national cricket team.
