Bangladesh has also improved a lot at the global level. Earlier, the fans considered Bangladesh as minnows. However, now, they have a series win over India, semifinal appearance at ICC Champions Trophy, quarterfinal finish at ICC World Cup, and also they have finished Asia Cup runners-up thrice.

With the growth of cricket in Bangladesh, the board launched its own T20 league titled the Bangladesh Premier League. Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman have achieved the most success in IPL among the Bangladeshi players. With IPL 2021 Auction approaching, here’s a look at the five Bangladeshi stars who deserve an IPL contract.

Shakib Al Hasan is a former Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad player. He is one of the few Bangladeshi players to have won the IPL championship. Last year, he was serving his one-year suspension.

However, Shakib has returned to professional cricket now. He starred for Bangladesh in their 3-0 ODI series win against West Indies at home. Since he is an all-rounder who can change the game with his batting and bowling, Al Hasan deserves another contract.

4. Mustafizur Rahman

Many foreign players have competed in the IPL over the last 13 years, but Bangladesh’s fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman is the only overseas star to have won the Emerging Player of the Year award. He is talented left-arm pace bowler.

So far, Rahman has represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. In 2020, multiple teams tried to sign him as a replacement player. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board did not give him permission to play in the IPL.

3. Liton Das

Liton Das is a wicket-keeper batsman, who opens the innings for his team. Das is an aggressive player, who knows how to pace his innings well. Also, Das has been very successful in international cricket.

A team like the Rajasthan Royals or the Royal Challengers Bangalore could go after Liton Das in the auction. Both teams need a back-up wicket-keeper and a top-order batsman in their squad.

2. Mahmudullah

Mahmudullah is a middle-order batsman. He knows the art of finishing off an innings. Besides, he can also bowl a few overs of spin in the middle.

Mahmudullah could be a worthy addition to any IPL franchise. It is a bit surprising that even though he has been so impressive for Bangladesh, he has not earned an IPL contract yet.

1. Mushfiqur Rahim

Mushfiqur Rahim is one of the most experienced wicket-keepers in world right now. Rahim has much experience of batting in the middle order. Also, he has captained Bangladesh at the international level.

The Delhi Capitals have released Alex Carey from their squad. They do not have a back-up wicket-keeper right now for Rishabh Pant, and Mushfiqur Rahim could solve their issues.
