50-over match came into the limelight during the 1990s. The 1992 World Cup was a major game-changer in increasing the popularity of ODI cricket because of colored kits, cricket under lights and usage of white ball. At the moment, ODI cricket holds a lot of prestige, and it is the dream of every cricket to win the 50-over World Cup once.
Over the years, there have been several changes in this format. Initially, 240-250 was a good score to defend, but now, even totals of 300+ are not safe. It is gradually becoming a nightmare for the bowlers. A bowler can bowl a maximum of 10 overs in a 50-over mark. 5. Martin Andersson, 2022
Middlesex bowler Martin Andersson is one of the two bowlers to have achieved this dubious feat in 2022. He went for 110 runs in his spell against Sussex earlier this year.
4. Rashid Khan, 2019
It may surprise a few fans but Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan leaked 110 runs in nine overs against England during their 2019 World Cup match. It is the most expensive spell by any bowler in World Cup history.
3. Wahab Riaz, 2016
Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz also conceded 110 runs in a match against England. It happened in the year 2016.
2. Mick Lewis, 2006
Australian bowler Mick Lewis owns the record for the most runs conceded in an ODI match. Playing against South Africa in an ODI in 2006, Lewis ended up conceding 113 runs in his spell.

Arunachal Pradesh bowler Chetan Anand created a new world record for the most runs conceded by a bowler in a 50-over match. Playing against Tamil Nadu earlier today in Vijay Hazare Trophy, he gave away 114 runs.
