Thanks to the Indian Premier League, talent has been overflowing in India in recent years. Hence, very often, we are seeing new cricketers wear blue jerseys. On the same line, a few of them are set to make their debut for India next year. In this article, we take a look at the list of five talented Indians who could make their debut in 2022.
The rest of 2021 will only be about Tests for India. While the squad for the New Zealand series has been announced, the tour of South Africa is likely to involve the senior cricketers. Hence, there might not be any debuts this year. With a slew of ICC tournaments happening, India might have to experiment with a few players and hence, next year, there could be a few debutantes.
1) Shahrukh Khan
Shahrukh Khan is one of the Indians who could make their debut in 2022. While the Tamil Nadu player’s recent numbers have been impressive, his profile is something that is anyways needed for Team India at the moment. Shahrukh is a power-hitter in the middle-order and operates as a specialist finisher. It is a profile that India has been searching for since Hardik Pandya has fallen out of form. The Tamil Nadu man is also a decent off-break bowler although he has not been bowling a lot of them in recent months. Nevertheless, he could make his debut next year.
2) Ravi Bishnoi
The leg-spinner situation in India is not encouraging at the moment. It is not sure if India would rely on Yuzvendra Chahal for long. Also, Rahul Chahar has not been at his best in recent months. Hence, the selectors could finally make use of Ravi Bishnoi, who is considered as the future of India’s spin-bowling. Bishnoi has already shown his skills in IPL and with his counterparts not at their best, it is high time that he gets a chance.
3) Arshdeep Singh
India needs a left-arm seamer whom they can rely on. This is necessary for this age of matchups. However, the management has not found one in recent years. Arshdeep Singh has done well for two seasons now and deserves a chance. He picked 18 scalps in IPL 2021 and impressed many with his skills in the death. Hence, the Punjab cricketer could make his debut next year.
4) Avesh Khan
Avesh Khan was part of the New Zealand T20I series, and many expected that the Madhya Pradesh cricketer would make his debut. However, that did not happen. However, next year, the player is sure to play for India. He is a youngster, and the time is ripe to start investing in him. Therefore, he is one of the Indians who could make their debut in 2022.
5) Deepak Hooda
Deepak Hooda had a fantastic U19 campaign, and many thought he would do great things for India. However, it has not happened so far. That said, he is just 26 and seems to be in the form of his life at the moment. Similar to Shahrukh, Deepak is also a middle-order batsman, and the former SRH player is more than a useful spinner. Deepak has shown consistency, and the selectors should reward him with an opportunity.
