1. Mujeeb Ur Rahman

The Afghan spinner making the noise for all the right reasons with some enigmatic spinning wizardry, Mujeeb Ur Rahman was the second-highest wicket-taker in the Caribbean Premier League. Representing Jamaica Tallawahs, he scalped 16 wickets from 11 games at an extremely miserly economy rate of 5.29.

He will be playing for Kings XI Punjab and will hold a major key to the resurgence of the Rahul-led brigade. Given the tricky ilk of the pitches that has a lot to offer for the spinners in UAE, it will be an absolute delight for the eyes to watch this youngster bloom at his very best.

2. Imran Tahir

The 41-year old veteran leggie left an indelible mark in the legacy of CPL with astounding figures of 15 wickets from 11 games, playing for Guayana Amazon Warriors. His economy rate was equally brilliant as he stoked figures of 5.82 which are nothing short of miraculous in T-20 cricket.

Tahir will be the primary spinning option for Chennai Super Kings and will be leading the attack in the absence of Harbhajan Singh. His expertise will be of imperative importance in the terms of those unorthodox deliveries that can derail his counterparts off their ambition.

3. Shimron Hetmeyer

The West Indian pinch-hitter failed to leave a notable impact in his first essay at IPL however, his glittering innings of 75 gave out a glimpse of his belligerent brilliance. Playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors, Hetmeyer smoked 267 runs from 11 games that saw him scoring at a great average of 33.37 which also saw him striking the ball at a breezy rate of 125.94.

He will resume his trade for the Delhi Capitals who are desperately scouring for a middle-order batsman who can steady things alongside the dynamics of Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. He is a tenacious hard-hitter of the ball and will be ruling the roost for taking care of the team’s middle-order.

4. Nicholas Pooran

Pooran showed considerable promise with the bat as he garnered 245 runs from 11 games playing alongside the likes of Hetmeyer in Guyana Amazon Warriors. To underline his sustaining brilliance, he also managed to score a scintillating century and stayed unbeaten until the end.

He will be a part of Kings XI Punjab that will rely heavily on the aggressive likes of Chris Gayle and Glenn Maxwell. Two masters of the shortest format of the game will be looking forward to making a concrete statement in this tournament. If Pooran can stick around and show a few of his fireworks to his teammates, that would nothing short of exhilarating for the team.

5. Andre Russell

Kolkata Knightriders’ muscleman, Dre Russ had a mixed bag experience in the recently concluded CPL 2020. From eight games, he managed to score 232 runs that included two half-centuries and three unbeaten knocks. However, his bowling wasn’t really the figures that he was hoping for. He could only scalp three wickets though he was pretty economical.

He will once again be KKR’s main man as his blazing display in the preceding edition of the fray saw him getting close to becoming the MVP of the tournament, only to be later refuted by being knocked out before making it to the play-offs.

6. Ali Khan

KKR’s latest recruit will actually be a big name to watch out as the American wunderkind left everyone startled with some amazing figures of 8 wickets from 8 games. His 27 wickets from 23 CPL games at a good economy rate of 8.56 will make him a dangerous player to watch out for.

Especially in UAE, he has had a good outing previously where he played the T10 league for Zaheer’s team Delhi Bulls and he produced a double-wicket maiden in a competition which has been reduced to ten overs and the run rates in the fray remain close to 13 to 14 runs per over. The best part about his bowling is his ruthless and brutal pace that can leave the batsmen dazed and confused.
