Mumbai Indians have been a part of the Indian Premier League since 2008. They have played in every IPL season thus far and emerged as champions in five of them. MI have also won two Champions League T20 tournaments.
Several legends of the game like Sachin Tendulkar, Sanath Jayasuriya, Lasith Malinga, Harbhajan Singh and others have been a part of the MI franchise. While the aforementioned names played multiple seasons for MI, the following six names played just one season in their IPL careers, where they represented Mumbai and then disappeared.
1. Chandan Madan played for Mumbai Indians in 2010
Right-handed batter Chandan Madan played a solitary game in his IPL career. He made his debut for MI in 2010, scoring 15 runs off 19 balls in a match against Delhi Daredevils.
2. Richard Levi played for Mumbai Indians in 2012
South African batter Richard Levi played six matches for MI in 2012. He scored a match-winning fifty against CSK on debut, but his performances dipped as the tournament progressed. Subsequently, he was dropped.
3. Andre Nel played for Mumbai Indians in 2008
Former South African speedster Andre Nel played the only match of his IPL career for the Mumbai-based franchise in 2008. Playing against Delhi Daredevils, he returned with figures of 1/31 in three overs.
4. Vikrant Yeligati
Right-arm off-break bowler Vikrant Yeligati represented the Mumbai-based franchise in IPL 2008. He conceded 59 runs in his five wicketless overs and was dropped after that.
5. Musavir Khote
Musavir Khote was a part of MI’s first-ever playing XI in IPL history. He played four matches for Mumbai in 2008, scoring 24 runs and picking up two wickets.
6. Dominic Thornely
Former Australian all-rounder Dominic Thornely was one of the overseas players in the MI squad for the 2008 season. Thornely played six games, aggregating 39 runs and scalping three wickets.
