Ritika Sajdeh, the wife of now former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma, responded to Chennai Super Kings’ acknowledgment of the cricketer’s captaincy shift. Recently, Hardik Pandya was appointed to lead the Mumbai Indians, replacing Rohit Sharma as the captain for the upcoming IPL season.
CSK paid tribute to Sharma’s leadership in a social media video, acknowledging his remarkable decade-long stint that resulted in five IPL titles, tying the record with CSK captain MS Dhoni.
CSK’s Instagram post read, “2013 ➡️ 2023: A decade of spirited challenge! Much respect, Rohit!,” accompanied by a yellow heart emoji from Ritika.
Mumbai Indians entrusted Hardik with the captaincy for the upcoming IPL, following his return to the team after a historic trade from the Gujarat Titans, where he led them to victory in the 2022 season.
Currently recovering from an ankle injury sustained during an ICC Cricket World Cup match against Bangladesh, Hardik’s captaincy condition was reportedly communicated before rejoining Mumbai Indians. It’s also noted that Rohit Sharma was aware of this arrangement before the World Cup and agreed to play under Hardik Pandya’s captaincy in IPL 2024.
