Aakash Chopra feels Washington Sundar will get big bids in IPL 2022 Mega Auction

Former Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder and India international cricketer Washington Sundar will bag big bucks believes former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra.

Sundar has been an instrumental part of the Indian cricket team as well as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side. But, he missed out on the 2nd phase of the IPL 2021 due to injury and has not been retained by the RCB franchise for the IPL 2022.

Former Indian cricketer and an analyst Aakash Chopra believes that Washington Sundar has not been discussed a lot throughout the retention phase.

In a video uploaded on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra opined that Sundar’s has not come up for discussion much and even the selectors have now moved on from him and has picked Jayant Yadav and Rahul Chahar ahead of him.

He took his viewers back to the historic Gabba Test series win over the mighty Australians earlier this year. He stated that even Rishabh Pant was the hero of the match, Shardul Thakur and Sundar also scored lots of runs in the first inning, whereas, Sundar was even among the wickets.

He continued on prasing his performance and talked about how he contributed in the home series against England and questioned the selectors for picking Sundar while both Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel are injured. Jayant Yadav has been selected as one of the replacement.

Washington Sundar IPL Stats

Washington Sundar has played 42 matches in the Indian Premier League and has scored 217 runs and has picked up 27 wickets. He has also represented India in the Test, ODI and T20I format.

The BCCI is set to conduct a mega auction before the IPL 2022, and there is 2 new teams from Ahmedabad and Lucknow also joining the competition. But, Sundar’s track record has really put every franchise on notice and with almost the teams looking for a reliable all-rounder, no doubt that Washington Sundar could bag big bucks.
