The 20-year-old’s notable performances in domestic cricket during 2023 have fueled expectations of significant interest in the IPL 2024 auction.

During the IPL mock auction on Jio Cinema, former Indian cricketer Abhinav Mukund revealed that an IPL scout likened Rizvi to a right-handed version of Suresh Raina. Aakash Chopra and Raina himself share the belief that Rizvi could emerge as a lucrative asset in the upcoming IPL auction.

RP Singh, former fast bowler, suggested that Rizvi could be an ideal fit for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2024, citing the team’s need for a finisher in the lower order. Chopra concurred, highlighting Rizvi’s ability to effortlessly hit sixes.

“Lucknow Super Giants might need someone as a finisher. They have a lot of top-order batters, and the finisher might need to be Indian. They have Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran as their No. 4 and No. 5. Rizvi, who has done well in the UP T20 League, could fill that role with his ability to hit big sixes,” explained Chopra.

Rizvi’s credentials include achieving the fastest century in the inaugural edition of the UP T20 League, and he maintains an impressive average of 49.16 in domestic T20s with a strike rate of 134.70.
