Making a notable return with a decisive 118-run score in the third Test of the 2023 Ashes, Marsh seized the opportunity presented by Green’s injury. His commendable performance extended into Australia’s 2023 ODI World Cup campaign, accumulating 441 runs.

Despite his limited play in 2023, the 24-year-old Green has participated in just three World Cup games and is currently representing Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield. Meanwhile, Marsh, after a busy period, has opted for some relaxation.

“Cameron’s a special talent. We’ve got a great relationship. We’re super close on and off the field. I always joke that there’s probably not a lot I can teach him on the cricket field, but he knows I’m always there for him and hopefully we can play a lot of cricket together,” said Mitchell Marsh.

Marsh clarified that he is no longer competing for a spot in Australia’s playing eleven, having earned his place in the Ashes through dedicated effort. He looks forward to enjoying his cricket, confident in the team’s depth and the capabilities of whoever is selected.

In recent developments, Green was traded to Royal Challengers Bangalore from Mumbai Indians for INR 17.5 crore, while Marsh is set to play a key role for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024.
