Gujarat Titans are the best team in IPL right now. After IPL 2022 Mega Auctions, no one expected GT to reach this level. However, thanks to their brilliant recruitment, they are a top squad in the league. In fact, they have so many unused resources, who themselves can form a brilliant playing XI. Here, we take a look at the balanced playing XI of Gujarat Titans players who have hardly played in IPL 2023.
Openers: Urvil Patel and B Sai Sudharsan
Both Urvil Patel and Sai Sudharsan are brilliant youngsters at the domestic level. While Urvil is yet to play in IPL, Sai has already made his debut and has left an impression. Yet, the Tamil Nadu youngster is finding it hard to get a spot in the XI. Since Hardik Pandya is now batting at No.3, there is no spot for Sai. Nevertheless, going forward, he would be an asset for the franchise and maybe for Team India, as well.
Middle-Order: KS Bharat and Matthew Wade (WK)
KS Bharat and Wade will form the core of this middle order in the balanced playing XI of Gujarat Titans players who have hardly played in IPL 2023. Since Wriddhiman Saha is playing well, KS Bharat is yet to make his debut for GT. He is one player who has played for India recently and GT has been able to do well without his services. That shows the kind of depth in the squad. Similarly, Matthew Wade is also a brilliant T20 player and even he is finding it hard to get a game in IPL 2023. Both of these players could have played all 14 games if they were in different teams.
All-Rounders: Dasun Shanaka, R Sai Kishore, Jayant Yadav and Shivam Mavi
Dasun Shanaka came in as the replacement for Kane Williamson. The Sri Lankan cricketer is yet to get a game in IPL 2023. R Sai Kishore played an important role in GT’s title win last year. However, with the way that Noor Ahmed is performing, it would be hard for the player to get a game this season. Jayant Yadav played a game in IPL 2023 and was good. Shivam Mavi was a costly purchase by GT but the India international is yet to make his debut for the franchise. As mentioned earlier with other players, Mavi could have probably played all 14 games at a different franchise.
Bowlers: Darshan Nalkhande, Yash Dayal and Alzarri Joseph
Alzarri Joseph will lead this attack in the balanced playing XI of Gujarat Titans players who have hardly played in IPL 2023. Darshan and Yash have played a few games for GT till now. Both are good at the domestic level and have done their bit for GT. Yash has infact gotten close to the Indian Team, as well. Despite being a superb T20 pacer, Alzarri has not been used in all games for GT. He is just played over 50% of the games for the franchise this season. That said, with Josh Little leaving to play for Ireland, Alzarri will get a few chances.
