Chennai Super Kings won their fourth match of IPL 2022 last night against Delhi Capitals at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. CSK now have eight points to their name after 11 matches this season. Some fans think that the Chennai-based franchise have been eliminated from the race to the playoffs, but they still have an outside chance of qualifying for the next round.

The first condition is that the Chennai Super Kings should win all of their remaining matches. By winning their next three fixtures, CSK can take their overall points tally to 14. They also need to make sure that they register big wins like they did yesterday so that they have a superior net run rate in the competition.

The other results that must go in CSK’s way include Mumbai Indians winning all their respective matches. They should also hope that the Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants score as many point as possible from here, while the Royal Challengers Bangalore lose all their matches.

I’m not a big fan of Maths: Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni comments on his team’s chances of qualifying for IPL 2022 playoffs

Speaking at the post-match presentation after his team’s big win against the Delhi Capitals, CSK skipper MS Dhoni said that he is happy taking one match at a time and not think much about the playoffs scenario. Here’s what Dhoni said:

“One at a time is good enough. I’m not a big fan of maths – I wasn’t good at it in school either (grins). Just turn up for your game well, execute your plan and enjoy the game. You don’t want to turn up and feel the pressure. What’s important is to make the most of the remaining three games.”
