Australia, the five-time world champions, clinched a thrilling victory over Pakistan in their final warm-up match ahead of the 2023 ICC ODI Cricket World Cup, hosted in Hyderabad.

Under the leadership of Pat Cummins, the Australian team put up a formidable total of 351/7 in their allotted 50 overs, thanks to impressive performances by Glenn Maxwell (77 off 71) and Cameron Green (50* off 40).

In response, Pakistan’s Babar Azam led the charge with a scintillating 90 off just 59 balls, supported by notable contributions from Iftikhar Ahmed (83) and Mohammad Nawaz (50). However, their efforts fell short as they succumbed to a 16-run defeat.

While Australia’s all-round performance was commendable, it was David Warner who stole the limelight with his dance moves. Known for his passion for Telugu movies and superstar Allu Arjun, Warner, playing in Hyderabad, couldn’t resist showcasing his dance skills to the tunes of the popular movie “Pushpa: The Rise.”

Fans were ecstatic to witness Warner perform the hook step of the ‘Srivalli’ song, which played during the match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Moreover, Warner added to the entertainment by celebrating with the ‘Pushpa’ gesture after taking a crucial catch to dismiss Abdullah Shafique in the 12th over, off the bowling of Sean Abbott. This display of enthusiasm and sportsmanship added an extra layer of excitement to an already thrilling warm-up match.

The Australian cricket team will commence its ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign against the hosts Indian cricket team on the 8th of October at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Before the World Cup, both the teams faced off in a 3 match ODI series which the Men in Blue won 2-1 after winning the first two matches of the series.
