India won the third T20 match comprehensively on Tuesday in St. Kitts to take a 2-1 lead in the series. Suryakumar Yadav led the way to the win with a blistering knock of 76 runs off 44 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes. Notably, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was forced to retire hurt. He was on 11 runs off five balls with one four and one six.

In trying to hit the ball powerfully on the leg side, he appeared to have hurt his lower back. And as per the latest update by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the medical team is examining the progress. The six that Rohit hit was almost a catch at the deep boundary line. But the fielder, Dominic Drakes, made a mess of it.

But with that six, Rohit has surpassed the likes of Virat Kohli in an amazing feat. He has now hit the most sixes in T20Is as an Indian captain, surpassing Virat. Rohit has now hit 60 sixes in 34 innings, while Virat had 59 maximums in 50 matches. MS Dhoni also had 34 sixes, leading the Indian side.

However, the target of 165 runs was a tricky one, and the skipper going off the field made it difficult. But SKY had some other plans. He just showed why he is India’s “Mr. 360”, playing shots all around the ground. The batter brought up his fifty off just 26 balls and single-handedly changed the momentum towards the visitors.

He and Shreyas Iyer (24) added 86 runs for the second wicket, effectively putting West Indies out of the game in the end. Rishabh Pant also played an unbeaten innings of 33 runs to seal the deal for India. However, after the game, the Indian skipper discussed his injury.

He also hinted that it is not serious and he will be available for the remaining two matches. Rohit Sharma said, “It’s okay at the moment. We’ve got a few days till the next game, hopefully, it should be okay.”

Notably, the fourth match will start in three days’ time on Saturday, August 6. As per the changes in venue, both remaining matches have shifted to the US. The venue for the next two matches is Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida.
