In an exclusive with Bengali daily, Anandabazar Patrika, Robin Uthappa said that he hopes that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), a team played for and won the Trophy in 2014, wins the IPL 2024. Robin was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders between 2014 till 2019 and one of the biggest reason behind the team glory in his first season with the team. In his debut season for KKR in 2014, he won the Orange cap and guided KKR to the Trophy.

“It’s been long since I left KKR but my love for the team is still there. I obviously want them to win the IPL again,” he said to the Bengali daily.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is the third most successful team in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) behind the likes of Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. However, KKR have not managed to win a single IPL Trophy since their last victorious campaign in 2014. They reached the final of the IPL 2021 off the back of a great second half, only to lose out to Chennai Super Kings in the Final.

This year, KKR have a good squad, but most importantly, they have their most successful captain, Gautam Gambhir back as a mentor of the team, which is a much needed boost to the team. KKR have all the talent, but needed someone who is a good leader and can be good guide to the team and there is no better to the man who brought the two Trophies in 2012 and 2014 respectively.
