The Afghanistan Cricket Board has penalized Naveen Ul Haq, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Fazalhaq Farooqi for prioritizing personal interests over national representation. Their 2024 central contracts face delays, and they are barred from participating in any T20 league for the next two years, including revocation of existing NOCs for tournament participation.

Refusing to sign new contracts from January 1, 2024, the trio sought NOCs for franchise leagues, prompting the ACB to take action, emphasizing their commercial pursuits over national commitment.

The sanctions follow a committee’s investigation, confirming guilt and aligning the decision with national priorities, stressing the obligation for players to prioritize country over personal interests.
