Chetan Sakariya was one of the top bowlers in IPL 2021. The left-arm fast bowler continued his fine form from domestic cricket and emerged as one of the leading wicket-takers for the Rajasthan Royals. Soon after, he made his debut for the Indian cricket team.

His stock sky-rocketed after IPL 2021 as three teams entered in a bidding war to sign him at the mega auction. Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals were the three franchises who showed interest in him. Eventually, it was DC who signed him for 4.2 crore.

Fans expected that Sakariya will be the lead Indian pacer for the Delhi-based franchise, but the same did not happen. The Capitals kept him on the bench for 11 out of the 14 matches that they played. Sakariya played only three games, scalping three wickets.

“Since I wasn’t a part of the playing XI, I began to feel very lonely. I used to have sleepless nights and used to miss my father a lot.”

How Chetan Sakariya celebrated in a Dragon Ball Z style to remember his father

Many members of the cricket universe would remember that Chetan did a Dragon Ball Z celebration after dismissing Aaron Finch in his first game for DC. In the same interview, the fast bowler mentioned that it was the way of teleportation in the show, so he tried to teleport to his father after taking the wicket of an international batter.

“My father used to tease me at times by saying that he would consider me a good bowler only if I dismiss an international player. So I too teleported myself to my father and told him that look I have got an international player out. ”
