Matthew Wade was one of the architects of the Australian cricket team’s historic ICC Men’s T20 World Cup triumph last year in the United Arab Emirates. His 41-run knock against the Pakistan cricket team ensured that the Australian cricket team qualified for their second ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Final. This time, the Aussies did not lose in the final as they captured their maiden ICC Men’s T20 World Cup trophy.

Fans should note that had Wade not played that cameo in the semifinal, the Australian cricket team would probably have returned home early from the Middle East. However, it was Wade’s night, and the left-handed batter finished things off in style with three maximums off Shaheen Shah Afridi’s bowling.

The IPL 2022 Mega Auction happened over the last weekend. Wade has joined the Gujarat Titans team, while he believes that a new signing by Mumbai Indians can end up playing for the Australian cricket team in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 Down Under.

Matthew Wade thinks Singapore’s Tim David may play for Australia in the ICC T20 World Cup

Singapore is not among the top cricketing nations, but a new talent has emerged from the nation named Tim David. He is a finisher, who has made a name for himself in the shortest format of the game. David made his IPL debut for the Royal Challengers Bangalore last year.

This year, David will don the Mumbai Indians jersey for the first time in his career. Here’s what Matthew Wade had to say about David’s future during a chat with Cricket Australia:

“If Tim David puts up a good IPL for the Mumbai Indians then surely he’s on the radar for Australia in T20 World Cup.”

South Africa-born Marnus Labuschagne has become world number one Test batter while playing for Australia. It will be exciting to see how far Singapore-born Tim David goes.
