The India Legends will open their Road Safety World Series 2021 campaign against the Bangladesh Legends at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. Last year, the Road Safety World Series began in Maharashtra. However, the tournament had to be called off because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

India Legends played two matches before the tournament was postponed. The Sachin Tendulkar-led outfit defeated the West Indies Legends and the Sri Lanka Legends in the two matches they played. Hence, they will be at the number one position on the points table when the tournament resumes.

India Legends have announced a star-studded squad for Road Safety World Series. Here’s a look at their predicted playing XI for the game against the Bangladesh Legends.

When Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar are present in the squad, then it goes without saying that the duo will open the innings for the team. In the first match of Road Safety World Series, Sachin and Sehwag had a 83-run opening partnership against the West Indies Legends.

Hence, both legendary openers will likely open the batting for India Legends. Sehwag had destroyed the Bangladesh bowling attack in the first match of 2011 World Cup. It will be interesting to see if he could complete a perfect 10 Year Challenge.

Middle Order – Mohammad Kaif, Yuvraj Singh, and Naman Ojha (wk)

Mohammad Kaif will likely bat at the number three position for India Legends in Road Safety World Series. Kaif has much experience under his belt. Also, he will be one of the fittest players in the Road Safety World Series 2021.

Yuvraj Singh will be the team’s primary all-rounder. Singh played a match-winning role for India in the 2011 World Cup, but he managed 11 runs in two innings of the 2020 Road Safety World Series.

Wicket-keeper batsman Naman Ojha recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. He will return to the field and probably keep the wickets for India Legends.

Lower Middle Order – Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, and Manpreet Gony

Yusuf Pathan also quit all forms of cricket recently. The Baroda all-rounder will join forces with his brother Irfan Pathan in the 2021 Road Safety World Series. Yusuf and Irfan will play together for India Legends and be the team’s two finishers.

The Pathan brothers will have the back of Manpreet Gony in this department. Gony is a right-arm pacer, who can also slog a few deliveries. In the 2020 Road Safety World Series, Gony came out to bat at number four against West Indies Legends, but he got out for a duck.

Bowlers – Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, and Pragyan Ojha

Zaheer Khan picked up three wickets in two matches of the Road Safety World Series 2020. Khan looked in good shape and will be the key to India Legends’ success in the Road Safety World Series 2021. Khan will have the back of Munaf Patel, who took a four-wicket haul versus the Sri Lanka Legends.

Pragyan Ojha will be the lead spin bowler for the India Legends. He will get the support from Yusuf Pathan and Yuvraj Singh in the spin attack of India Legends.
