The India vs England Test series will begin on August 4 in Nottingham. The series between India and England will feature five Test matches. This series is a part of the new cycle of the ICC World Test Championship. In fact, this is the first series of the new cycle which will go on till 2023.
The visitors have named a star-studded squad for the 5-match Test series against the England cricket team. Virat Kohli will lead the team, while it also features the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, Umesh Yadav and other Indian stars. Unfortunately, three Indian players Washington Sundar, Avesh Khan and Shubman Gill will not participate in the series because of injury.
The BCCI announced that the trio of Suryakumar Yadav, Prithvi Shaw and Jayant Yadav will travel to England to join the Indian Test squad as replacements. England visited India earlier this year for a 4-Test series, where the Virat Kohli-led outfit emerged victorious by a scoreline of 3-1. That series defeat denied England the entry into the ICC World Test Championship Final. England will be keen to avenge that loss.
The India vs England Test series will start on August 4 and culminate on September 14. The start time of the day’s play will be 3:30 PM IST (10:00 AM GMT, 11:00 AM Local Time). The five venues for this series are Trent Bridge, Lord’s, Headingley, Kennington Oval and Emirates Old Trafford.
