IPL gets targeted for cancellation of the 5th Test match

In recent times, almost every cricketing event gets linked to the Indian Premier League. This is especially prevalent when any overseas player skips an International assignment to be part of the IPL. The argument is that IPL offers loads of money and this sways the players to be part of it. Recently, after the Manchester Test was cancelled, too, the same argument was brought forward.

IPL is set to start on September 19th. Many opined that since it is just a few days away, the boards did not have the option of postponing the Test match. Also, a few reports suggested that the Indians did not want to miss any IPL games due to isolation. Hence, they were not ready to take the risk of contracting the virus.
