Former Indian cricket team player Aakash Chopra has expressed his unhappiness over the performances from the West Indies cricket team captain Kieron Pollard in the recently-concluded series against the Indian cricket team. The West Indies team toured India for three T20 international games and an ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series.

While West Indies won a T20I series against the England cricket team recently, they lost to the Indian cricket team by a 0-3 scoreline in both series. It goes without saying that the Indian cricket team played fantastically well, but fans certainly expected more from the West Indies team, especially their captain Kieron Pollard, who has a lot of experience of playing in the Indian conditions.

Pollard started the tour with a duck against India in the first ODI as Yuzvendra Chahal rattled his stumps. He missed the next two matches because of an injury, and then returned for the T20I series. The all-rounder played all three matches of the T20I series. He started well with a 19-ball 24, but scored 3*(3) and 5(7) in the next two matches.

“Kieron Pollard – it seemed he is not interested at all. He is not bowling and when he comes to bat, he doesn’t look the same player. He looks much better for the Mumbai Indians.”

Chopra further gave his honest opinion and added that he looks half the player in the West Indies jersey. He also mentioned that his captaincy and field placements were not so good in the Indian cricket team series as well as the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
