The 2020 edition of IPL is just a few weeks away as the cricket universe is gearing up for yet another exciting season of the world’s grandest T20 tournament. This year, the MS Dhoni fans are specially excited for this tournament because the legendary wicket-keeper batsman has been away from the cricket field ever since he got dismissed by a direct throw from Martin Guptill in the India vs New Zealand 2019 World Cup semifinal match.

There are two big news for the Chennai Super Kings fans. One is obviously the big return of MS Dhoni while the other is the reopening of the stands in Chepauk. The fans will look to fill up all the seats to mark the return of their Thala in the IPL. However, there was a time when the Ranchi-born superstars was a part of the Rising Pune Supergiant. It was a tough time for Dhoni as the owners of RPSG did not value his services and instead preferred to have Steve Smith as their captain.

Talking about the Rising Pune Supergiant team, the team made its debut under the captaincy of MS Dhoni in IPL 2017 against the Mumbai Indians. It was the first match of the tournament where the Pune-based franchise elected to bowl first. The match proved to be a lopsided match as Pune comfortably defeated Mumbai Indians in the second innings.

However, there was a moment in the first innings which proved why Dhoni is the true master of life. Kevin Pietersen was on commentary during that innings and he was talking with Manoj Tiwary on the stump mic. Since Tiwary was fielding in the slips, he was nearby Dhoni and Pietersen asked him to remind Dhoni that the Englishman was a better golfer than him.

But, Dhoni silenced the troll by recalling that Pietersen was his first Test wicket and he will always be remembered as the first wicket of a bowler who used to keep the wickets.
