Lasith Malinga, the bowling coach for the Mumbai Indians (MI), showcased his legendary prowess during a recent training session, reminding the MI squad of his formidable skills. In an exercise aimed at precision, Malinga took charge, focusing on targeting the stumps with pinpoint accuracy, a task that included other bowlers, including notable figures like Arjun Tendulkar.
Despite the challenge of hitting a single stump, none of the participants, including Arjun Tendulkar, the son of Sachin Tendulkar, could meet the mark. Consequently, the 40-year-old veteran stepped up to exemplify the technique, demonstrating his mastery with a fluid bowling action.
Looking ahead, the Mumbai Indians are set to face the Royal Challengers Bangalore in their upcoming fixture at the Wankhede Stadium. Under the leadership of their new captain, Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians secured their first victory in IPL 2024 by defeating Delhi Capitals in their previous encounter.
This triumph marked a turnaround for the Mumbai Indians, who had faced three consecutive defeats at the outset of their IPL 2024 campaign before reclaiming their form in the fourth match. The 5 times IPL champions under Rohit Sharma, lost to Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals consecutively under Hardik Pandya’s leadership, but won the match against Delhi to climb up to 8th position in the points table.
