However, it’s been almost 12 days since the World Cup final, and the Australian all-rounder has finally broken his silence on that controversy.

In an interview with SEN, the all-rounder said that he didn’t mean to disrespect, and he didn’t think much about it during the post-match celebration. He said, “There was obviously no disrespect meant in that photo at all. I haven’t given it too much thought. I haven’t seen a lot on social media, even though everyone tells me it’s gone off. There is nothing in that.”

The all-rounder scored 441 runs in 10 innings at an average and strike rate of 49.00 and 107.56, with a best of 177 not out. But it was Travis Head who caught the limelight with a brilliant hundred in the final.

Australia won the final with six wickets and won its sixth World Cup title, which is the most by any team. Earlier, they also won the World Test Championship, beating India in the final. Virat Kohli ended the tournament as the highest run scorer with 765 runs and won Player of the Tournament.
