Alastair Cook is one of the legends of cricket. He holds the fifth spot on the list of highest run-scorers of all time in Test cricket. The left-handed batter was an excellent captain as well, as he led the England cricket team to some memorable wins. Cook retired from international cricket early, but he plays domestic cricket matches regularly.
Currently, he plays in a village cricket tournament. It was a match between Bedfordshire Young Farmers CC and Potton Town CC during the Heritage Cup quarter-final match, where Cook surprisingly lost his stumps to a 15-year-old bowler named Kyran.
Interestingly though Cook attempted an aggressive shot off his bowling. The left-handed batter was a defensive player during his time as an international cricketer. He would tire out the bowlers with his solid defense and then attack the loose deliveries to score heaps of runs.
However, fans should note that Cook’s team needed 155 runs off 12 overs when the former England cricket team captain came out to bat at number five. Playing for Bedfordshire Young Farmers CC, he aggregated 20 runs quickly before losing his stumps to Kyran.
Fans were shocked to see the dismissal because it was a shot that Alastair Cook rarely played in his career. Not many members of the cricket universe would have seen him lose his wicket in such a manner before. Some assumed that Cook looked to attack him because he was a 15-year-old bowler, but the others pointed out that Cook had no other option but to play that shot because the required run rate was 14 at that time.

More like @MarkLavs21 than Cook. Never saw him play that shot before

1 of the beauties of cricket, not many sports where a local amateur can claim to have played (& in their prime no less) let alone got 1 over on 1 of the game all time best

Literally never seen Cook play a shot like this! But a great story for the young lad 👏

To be fair, they needed about 14 an over at this point.

Looked like a no ball.

I’d be a bit worried coming in to bat next knowing the bowler just cleaned bowled Alistair Cook! 😳
