Speaking about the match between the Delhi Capitals and the Mumbai Indians first, MI skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to field first. A phenomenal bowling performance from Jasprit Bumrah helped the Mumbai-based franchise keep the Delhi Capitals down to 159/7 in their 20 overs. Speaking with the host broadcasters after the first innings, Bumrah said:

“That felt good. I was clear in my executions. Tried to do nothing out of the ordinary. Just backed my plans and executed it. It’s not about wickets for me. Whenever I’m clear and I’m having fun, that’s the point I enjoy. Results and wickets are not in my hands.”

Chasing 160 to help the Royal Challengers Bangalore qualify for the next round, Mumbai Indians got off to a slow start courtesy of a tight spell from Khaleel Ahmed. Some fans even compared him with Mitchell Starc because of his incredible bowling performance. Rohit Sharma ended the season with a single digit score, but the duo of Ishan Kishan and Dewald Brevis had a solid partnership for the second wicket.

During the game, DC took a questionable review as the ball pitched outside leg when they appealed for an LBW off Anrich Nortje’s bowling.
