Despite West Indies showcasing a six-hitting spectacle with 16 clearances over the rope and accumulating 79 runs in the last four overs, Salt’s outstanding performance became the focal point of England’s successful chase in Grenada.

Amidst the sweltering conditions, Salt hammered half of England’s 18 sixes, setting a ground record in T20 cricket, finishing with an unbeaten 109 off 56 deliveries. Brook then sealed the deal with a ball to spare, securing a seven-wicket triumph.

Entering the final over requiring 21 runs, Brook’s stellar performance included a four followed by three consecutive sixes off Andre Russell, narrowing the series deficit to 2-1 in the five-match series.

Jos Buttler’s contribution of 51 in a 115-run opening partnership with Salt, combined with Liam Livingstone’s brisk 30, allowed England to equal their joint second-highest chase in T20 cricket.

Now both these innings from Harry Brook and Phil Salt came at a time when there is 2 days left for the IPL 2024 Auction and both the players have been released by Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals respectively. In such a case, this inning from the two will help them in increasing their final bid amount in the auction.
