India’s playing XI for the Bangladesh T20I series will be different from the one that we saw against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe because regular players like Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mohammed Siraj will miss the series. They are members of the Test team as well. Hence, the selectors have rested them.

Openers in India’s probable playing XI – Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson (wk)

Surprisingly, the selectors have picked only one regular opener in the squad – Abhishek Sharma. One of the other top-order batters will receive the promotion to open the batting with him, and in all likelihood, it will be Sanju Samson, who has opened in T20s in the past.

Middle Order – Riyan Parag, Suryakumar Yadav (c), Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube and Nitish Kumar Reddy

The middle-order will likely have Riyan Parag batting at number three in the absence of Rishabh Pant. Suryakumar Yadav, the skipper, should continue batting at four, with the trio of Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube supporting him.

Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy will add more strength to the batting department. He did a fantastic job for Sunrisers Hyderabad, and all eyes will be on him in this series.

Bowlers – Mayank Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy/Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi

India should go in with Mayank Yadav in all three matches of this series. He can be the next express pacer of the team, and if groomed well, he can trouble many big teams. Depending on the pitch, India can decide whether to pick mystery spinner Varun CV or left-arm pace bowler Arshdeep Singh. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi should complete the playing XI.
