Journalist Abhishek Tripathi suggests that if the Board of Control for Cricket in India doesn’t extend Dravid’s contract, there’s a possibility he might become the mentor for Lucknow Super Giants. Gautam Gambhir, the team’s previous mentor, left to rejoin the Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2024.

Meanwhile, Rahul Dravid’s former IPL team Rajasthan Royals are considering bringing back their former player, however, the offer from Lucknow Super Giants is reportedly more lucrative.

During Dravid’s coaching tenure, India faced setbacks in ICC tournaments, including a loss to England in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final and defeat to Australia in the World Test Championship final. The recent ICC World Cup 2023 final also ended in Australia’s favor at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19.
