Day by day, minute by minute and seconds by seconds, India’s biggest sporting festival, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is closing in with the opening match of the tournament to be played between two teams who have huge fan following around the country, Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season officially kicks-off on the 22nd of March at the MA Chidambaram Stadium when MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will host Virat Kohli and former CSK batter Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The IPL 2024 will commence on the 22nd of March and will continue till the Final on the 26th of May. But, as of writing this, only the first 15 days of fixtures for the IPL 2024 is officially out now due to the general election in India. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have a total of 5 matches announced so far and as mentioned above, they will play their opening match of the tournament against Chennai Super Kings on the opening day itself. The match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from 8 P.M Indian Standard Time (IST) due to the opening ceremony.
RCB, captained by Faf du Plessis, will return home for their first home match against Punjab Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on the 25th of March. The match will be played at the regular time of 7:30 P.M IST.
The boys in red will remain at home for their third match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on the 29th of March. The match will be played at regular 7:30 P.M IST. There is much excitement for this match as Gautam Gambhir, former KKR captain has returned to the franchise as mentor.
Their third match in a row at home will be against the Lucknow Super Giants on the 2nd of April at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium with the match set to start at regular 7:30 P.M IST.
After 3 matches in a row at home, Royal Challengers Bangalore will travel to the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur to play against Rajasthan Royals in the Royals match. The match will be played at the regular time of 7:30 P.M IST.
