Team India has won the ongoing five-match T20I series against Australia with one game left to play. India won the fourth T20I game in Ranchi by 20 runs and registered a 3-1 series win. It was a brilliant win for the young Indian team, which played brilliantly to win the series.
For India, all the players contributed pretty well. Ruturaj Gaikwad has been one player who has scored runs in almost every game. He is also the only Indian player with a century in this series. Gaikwad has scored 213 runs at an average and strike rate of 71.00 and 166.41, respectively.
One thing that caught the attention of everyone in this series is the “fearless and aggressive” approach that this young Indian team has shown. Recently, in an interaction after the win in the fourth game, Gaikwad opened up and credited CSK captain MS Dhoni for his evolution in the T20 format.
In a discussion on Jio Cinema, Gaikwad said that in T20, one needs to stay ahead of the game. He also credited MS Dhoni and said, “Mahi bhai always insists that we don’t rush our thoughts, because there’s enough time for an opener even in a T20 match.”
India has already won the series 3-1, but Australia beat India in the final of the World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad. When asked about the World Cup final heartbreak, Gaikwad said that the plan was to stay positive and play the natural game.
The fifth and final game between the two teams will take place on Sunday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. After this series, India will tour South Africa for three T20Is, three ODIs, and two tests, starting on December 10. The BCCI has announced three captains for three different formats, and a lot of young faces will tour with the team. Gaikwad is one of three players to be part of all three squads.
