Harshal Patel was the costliest Indian player at the auction. The Punjab Kings signed him at a price of INR 11.75 crore. The defending champion Chennai Super Kings were also pretty active during the event and begged a few exciting players. They bought the Kiwi all-rounder duo of Daryl Mitchell (14 crore) and Rachin Ravindra (1.8 crore).

However, one name that surprised many was an uncapped Indian batted by UP Sameer Rizvi. The 20-year-old forced a few IPL franchises into the bidding war. Eventually, CSK signed him at a price of INR 8.4 crore, making him the costliest uncapped player at the IPL 2024 auction.
