IPL 2020 is just a few days away and the cricket universe is expected to witness the first ever Indian cricketing competition after the COVID-19 break. Because of the surging COVID cases in the country, the officials decided to conduct IPL in the UAE.

For the first time in the tournament’s history, the full season will be played in the Gulf nation. Earlier, in 2014, the UAE had hosted the first phase of the season. This year, the pitches will be a bit on the slower side because Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah have slower wickets as compared to the pitches of Wankhede Stadium or M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

There will be low-scoring matches, but it is noteworthy that all the franchises had formed their respective squads for IPL 2020 thinking that the competition would take place in India. Commentator Sanjay Manjrekar picked his top batting sides for this season and ranked the IPL teams as follows.

Chennai Super Kings hold the number one position, while Kings XI Punjab has the second spot in the list. Delhi Capitals hold the third position, with defending champions Mumbai Indians at fourth.

Surprisingly, Sunrisers Hyderabad is at the seventh position and Rajasthan Royals at last. These two teams have some big overseas stars like Jonny Bairstow, David Warner, Jos Buttler, Steve Smith, and Ben Stokes. Also Robin Uthappa, who won Orange Cap in IPL 2014, is present in the RR squad this year.

Royal Challengers Bangalore missed out on the top 4 in this list and Kolkata Knight Riders are at the sixth position. Manjrekar mentioned that he will rank the seam bowling attacks of all teams next in his tweet. It will be interesting to see which way he ranks the teams because his current list of batting has drawn mixed opinions from fans.
