The left-handed pacer sustained a knee injury just ahead of the Asia Cup 2022, which ruled him out of the event. His injury did affect the Men in Green, especially towards the business of the continental cup. He is an absolute match winner and any side would be privileged to have his services.

After being sidelined for long, Shaheen has almost recovered and is expected to take on the field very soon. He is also named in Pakistan’s squad for the Tri series against New Zealand and Bangladesh. Though he didn’t play against Bangladesh in the league opener, he could walk into the side in the next fixture.

At the same time, Babar Azam’s side would not want to hurry to comeback as he will have a crucial role to play in the T20 World Cup 2022 which is scheduled to get underway later this month. We recently saw what happened with Indian ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah, and Pakistan would not want that to be repeated with Shaheen.

Pakistan will kick-off their campaign against arch-rivals India on October 23. The last time these two teams faced in a World Cup fixture, Shaheen dropped one of the most memorable spells of all time. He dismantled Indian top-order to clinch victory for his side, which was their first against India in World Cup history.

Ahead of the marquee event, Shaheen took to Twitter to send a warning message for all the teams. His caption read: Calm before the storm, which resembles that he is ready to take on the opponents.
