After 10 successful seasons of Indian Premier League, the 11th season started this Saturday at the Wankhede stadium. The season started with the epic rivalry between the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and the comeback heroes Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The expectation of the fans for the encounter was totally at a different level.
However be the pressure, CSK captain MS Dhoni was so cool at the toss. It was really an emotional time for fans to see MS, the skipper, after a long gap. There wouldn’t be a bigger season opener than this for IPL.
These were the words from captain Dhoni at toss,“We will bowl first. There will be some dew later on, it’s a good batting surface. It feels nice to be back in yellow, but we can’t be emotional. Starting well is important. Wood, Tahir, Bravo and Watson are the four overseas players today”.
Just like MS wanted, CSK started this tournament with a win. Thanks to fabulous innings from DJ Bravo and a dedicated batting from K Jadhav. It would be the best encounter between the two teams in IPL history. There was a lot of excitement when Harbhajan Singh and Ambati Rayudu who had strong bonding with MI were playing against the same team. This is what IPL is all about.
