The 26th match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is currently underway at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, with the Lucknow Super Giants battling the Mumbai Indians. The most successful team in IPL history is under enormous pressure because they have suffered five defeats on a trot in IPL 2022. Captain Rohit Sharma did something different during his team’s match against the Lucknow Super Giants.
Speaking about the toss first, the Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to field first in the afternoon match at Brabourne Stadium. The Mumbai-based franchise used a different strategy as they used six bowlers for the six overs of the powerplay.
Here’s what Sharma had said during the brief interview at the toss:
“We will bowl first. Since it’s a day game, we’ve got another slower bowler in Fabian Allen. It’s a good pitch to play cricket but his experience will be good for us. Tymal, Brevis, Allen and Polly are the four overseas. It’s just the basics that have been missing in the last five games.”

During the Lucknow Super Giants’ innings, Manish Pandey smacked a full-toss from Murugan Ashwin towards the cover region. The ball went straight to Sharma after a bump. Sharma started to celebrate as if it was a catch. The crowd thought it was out for a second as they popped up only to know it was a prank.
