Former South African cricket team captain Faf du Plessis has put all the IPL franchises on notice ahead of the mega auction with a match-winning half-century in the 2022 Bangladesh Premier League season. The right-handed batter played a fine knock of 83 runs to help his team Comilla Victorians register a win over the Chattogram Challengers.
Talking about the match between the Comilla Victorians and the Chattogram Challengers, the Victorians got the chance to bat first, and half-centuries from the South African duo of Faf du Plessis and Cameron Delport helped the Comilla Victorian post a fantastic score of 183/3 on the board.
The Victorians lost the wicket of their opening batter Mahmudul Hasan Joy early, but du Plessis and Litton Das added 80 runs for the 2nd wicket partnership and placed the team in a decent position. After that, Cameron Delport scored a superb fifty to ensure the Victorians crossed the 180-run mark.
In reply, the Chattogram Challengers managed only 131 runs as they lost all of their wickets. Mustafizur Rahman shone for the Victorians with figures of 2/26, while Nahidul Islam scalped three wickets for the Victorians.

Courtesy of his 83-run knock, du Plessis won the Man of the Match award in today’s Bangladesh Premier League match. After the game, du Plessis said at the post-match presentation:
“It was really nice to get out there and score some runs for the team that ends up in a winning cause. Liton was very good today and for a guy to come off a good Test season and that translated well today and it was nice with Cameron as well with the ball getting softer and last 5 overs, we went for it.”
