8th November, 2021, Monday, it is the day in which Virat Kohli will step into the cricket field for the last time as India’s T20 International captain, in the match against Namibia, in which will be India’s last match in the T20 World Cup 2021.

Virat Kohli had earlier announced that he will be stepping down as India’s T20 captain after the T20 World Cup 2021. Along with that, he also decided to step down as Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)’s captain as well.

Virat Kohli is probably one of the most unluckiest captain ever, because the man deserve more than what he has achieved as India’s captain. Under him, India have failed to win any major trophies, whether it is the 2019 Cricket World Cup or the World Test Championship 2021 Final, New Zealand got better of India in all of these tournaments.

But it is not down to fact that Virat Kohli is India’s captain. Many Indian fans have been criticising Virat Kohli for not winning any major trophies, but it is because of, that India has never made the step up in these big matches, in these big competitions.

Virat Kohli as India’s T20 captain, stands right up there alongside some of the greats, like MS Dhoni. If we look into Kohli’s stats as India’s T20 captain, Virat Kohli has led India in 49 occasions, as of before the Namibia match in the T20 World Cup 2021.

Out of those 49 matches, India has won 31 matches, and that takes the winning percentage to 63.27%. India has lost only 16 matches and 2 matches ended in no result or tied. All in all, Virat Kohli is right up there with MS Dhoni in terms of record as India’s T20 captain.

Under Kohli’s captaincy, India has registered couple of big wins. Kohli has also produced great performance with the bat as well in his time as India’s T20 captain.

India will be taking the field for the last time in the T20 World Cup 2021, tonight on the 8th of November against Namibia.

India, who was the favourites for the T20 World Cup 2021, started off poor in the tournament with 2 big defeats against Pakistan and New Zealand. Even if they made a strong comeback, New Zealand pipped India to qualify for the semi-finals.
