New Zealand cricket team’s pace sensation, Lockie Ferguson, recently added a touch of Bollywood magic to the cricketing world with a viral video shared by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

In the midst of the ongoing World Cup, Ferguson entertained fans by reciting dialogues from the 2001 sports drama film ‘Lagaan,’ which was a massive hit starring Indian superstar Aamir Khan alongside British actors Rachel Shelley and Paul Blackthorne.

On the cricketing front, the 32-year-old fast bowler showcased his skills in New Zealand’s warm-up game against Pakistan, securing figures of 1/34.

He also captained the New Zealand team during the ODI series against Bangladesh, where he claimed two wickets in as many matches. In 2023, Ferguson has been a standout performer, bagging eight wickets in 11 games at an impressive economy rate of 5.99.

With a diverse IPL career that has seen him represent teams like the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Gujarat Titans (GT), and the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant, Ferguson is poised to leverage his experience and adapt to the conditions in the high-stakes ICC event.

New Zealand cricket team is currently in action in their second warm-up match at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday, October 2, as of writing this.

In the warm-up match against South Africa, New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first. While writing this, New Zealand have done so far a fabulous job where they have scored 233 runs while 38th over is ongoing. The Kiwis have lost only 1 wicket, Will Young, otherwise, both Devon Conway and Kane Williamson retired from the match.
